When God gives you rain.. We jump in puddles

Ever since we got here Braden has wanted to experience a small hurricane.  We got to meet Tropical Storm Alberto, just the tail end of it.  But it was big enough that the cruise ships canceled for the week.  And might I add, it is a pain to bike in the rain and wind.  Hurricane season doesn't start until June 1st but I guess it is starting a little early.  We still have a month and a half left, who knows, we could still be here if a hurricane hits.  As long as we are safe and also that it doesn't destroy the airport, it would be exciting to see one.
When God gives us rain, we jump in puddles!
Our backyard had so many frogs cause of the rain, so we caught a couple.

This is our mini lake we had in our backyard, probably not the cleanest.

Birthday Fun!

23..Wow I feel old.  I had a fantastic birthday, I got spoiled by Braden and my Mom.  I woke up to Braden making breakfast, smiley face pancakes!

We spent the day at Rum Point. First we had a mini photo shoot with my mom as our photographer.

Braden and I swam with sting rays in the afternoon.  I was a little hesitant at first to get in the ocean with them because they are not exactly small.  We had a wonderful time! This is definitely a birthday I won't forget.
If you can tell, I was a little scared holding them for the first time.  But after this I was a natural with the sting rays.

Kissing the sting ray for 7 years of good luck!

After Rum Point we went over to Star Fish Point to see what we coud find..
STAR FISH!
Mom was brave enough and held one too.

Sorry for the picture overload, but I had such a wonderful birthday I just wanted to share it with you all!

Mom's Visit

I can't believe the week with Mom has come and gone just like that!  It was a blast having her stay here with us.

She arrived in Grand Cayman Wednesday night after a long day of traveling.  She stayed on our uncomfortable fold out couch, although she said it was comfortable (thanks for being a good sport about that mom).  On Thursday, Braden and I had to work so Mom walked into town later in the day but sadly she took a wrong turn and was walking in the wrong direction for about an hour.  But after a long walk in the heat, she finally found our stores.

Mom finally had a well needed relaxing day at the beach!  The sun was a little stronger than she was expecting and got a little burnt.
The next day it rained all day so we did fun indoor activites.  We went to the Cayman Car Museum, which Braden has wanted to go to since we got here.  He was like a little kid in a candy store.

First car in Cayman

Dad got to join us for the sunset

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon so after church we went on a drive and stopped at the beach.

One night we had a wonderful dinner at Paradise Restaurant looking over the ocean as the sun was setting.
Thank you Mom for coming all the way to Grand Cayman to say Hi!  We loved having you with us and being able to show you around the island.  We love you!
