Dodger

We would like everyone to meet Dodger Brutus Hirschi!! He is an American Eskimo. Dodger was born on June 10, 2012.  We are so happy to have him be a part of our little family.  We found him on KSL from a family from Guadalajara.  They had a hard time speaking English, but Braden sure loved speaking to them in Spanish.  Dodger's parents are both American Eskimos.  He was one of a litter of eight.  When we went to go pick him up, there were only three males left.  So when we first got to their house, they brought out the puppies.  And right from the start I had a connection to him, he stole my heart and I knew right away that he would be a part of our family!
Right after picking him up.  All of the dogs were in different color t-shirts.

The first couple days he slept a lot and seemed scared of us.  But once he realized that we were his new parents he lightened up and acted like himself.  He is doing pretty good with potty training, but like any other puppy, he has his accidents.
After having him for a week Braden and Dodger were playing in the backyard and Dodger "did his business" and so Braden was cleaning it up and Dodger decided to dart up the deck stairs.  He was watching Braden and stuck his little head in between the deck posts, and his leg got caught on the post and he fell 7 feet off the deck onto the cement. I have never seen Braden run that fast before and also his face looked so scared.  Dodger landed on his face and his front two legs.  He was screaming/crying alot, his mouth was bleeding, shaking and unable to walk on his front right leg.  We felt so terrible and thought we had failed as puppy parents.  We took him right over to the veterinarian to get him checked out to see if he was ok.  Besides a cut up mouth and gums, he was ok!!!  No internal bleeding, no broken bones, he was ok.  We felt very lucky.  I hope Dodger isn't accident prone like his Daddy(Braden)

He loves his sock monkey, but now the monkey is missing a leg cause he plays with it so much.
Braden and Gavin just chilling with Dodger in his cage.
Dodger enjoying the scenery on our drive to Florida.

We are so happy to have Dodger, He is such a good puppy!!!

Family Fun

It's so good to be with family again!!!!
From the time we came home from Cayman until we left for Florida, we had a packed month and a half with family.  We wouldn't have wanted to spend it any other way.  It started out with the Hirschi Family Reunion at Pine View Resevoir.  It was a blast! We went boating, swam, ultimate glow in the dark frisbee (where i did a sweet dive catch in the end zone to win the game! i know, right!) card games, family feud, volleyball, dodgeball with flour filled nylon balls and many more fun things.  It was great to get to know that side of the family more.  We love the Hirschi clan!!
playing pioneer tug-a-war. Jennica vs. Jennica.. I think she has a pretty cool name

After the reunion we were off to Lake Powell with my family.  It was us, my parents, the Ogdens, and the Andersons.  We missed having the Stones and the Farmers there.  I grew up always having a boat, so its sad to admit but on this trip, it was the first time I have tried Slalom skiing and I got up on my second try. That sure takes alot of energy.  It was a fun, chill trip.  Lake Powell is one of our favorite places to go.

Kylie and Matt's wedding was on our next list of family fun.  First Kylie recieved her endownment in the Bountiful temple the Saturday before the wedding.
Matt and Kylie were married on August 15.  It was a wonderful day! It was a beautiful Sealing at the Salt Lake Temple.  The luncheon was so yummy at Cheesecake Factory.  The reception was in the Hirschi's backyard, they did a fantastic job with the way their yard looked. It was BEAUTIFUL! We are so happy to have Matt part of the family.  We didn't know him that well until a week before the wedding, but after spending more time with him he is super nice and alot of fun to be around.  And the way he looks at Kylie, you can tell he loves her so much!

The wedding party jumped into the pool at the end of the reception, it was a blast!!

We did a bunch of other activites with the family; pioneer day celebrations, birthday parties, BBQs, swimming, bridal showers, sibling dinners and many more.   We are going to miss our family while we are in Florida!  We love them so much and are blessed to have them be a part of our lives.
Love you all and Miss you!!
